Pakornwut Responds to Pai’s Allegations About 44 MP Case

Bangkok: Pakornwut Udompipatsakul, MP and deputy leader of the Prachachon Party, addressed recent allegations made by Pai Lik, MP for Kamphaeng Phet and secretary-general of the Klatham Party, concerning a dinner meeting involving key political figures. Pakornwut suggested that Pai might be interpreting things as he usually does, with no actual basis for the claims.

According to Thai News Agency, the controversy revolves around a dinner with Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, Mr. Rangsiman Rome, deputy leader of the Prachachon Party, and Ms. Rakchanok Srinok, MP for Bangkok of the Prachachon Party. Pai raised suspicions about discussions related to the 44 MPs, although Pakornwut clarified that he was not present at the dinner. He emphasized that Ms. Rakchanok was not among the 44 MPs and insisted that no such discussion took place. Pakornwut speculated that Pai’s comments might stem from his own perceptions rather than facts.

Pakornwut further explained that the dinner meeting was pre-arranged and had nothing to do with recent political developments, such as the withdrawal of the Bhumjaithai Party from the government. He highlighted the logistical challenges of scheduling such meetings, noting that it was not a spontaneous event.

When questioned about potential mudslinging against the Prachachon Party, Pakornwut expressed reluctance to view it that way, although he acknowledged that the Bhumjaithai Party’s recent exit from the government might have left some residual tensions. He stated that accusations or attacks were not unexpected.

Addressing concerns about damage to the Prachachon Party, Pakornwut assured that they could explain the situation. He remarked that the party has faced challenges for the past two years, regardless of their association with the Bhumjaithai Party, and that they remain prepared to clarify any misunderstandings.
