Palang Pracharath Party Spokesman Denies Welcoming Ekkanat’s Resignation to Overthrow Phiraphan

Bangkok: The spokesman of the Palang Pracharath Party has stated that he does not welcome the resignation of Ekkanat Promphan as part of an effort to overthrow Phiraphan Salirathavibhaga. The spokesman expressed confidence that discussions among senior party members would occur soon, affirming that Ruam Thai Sang Chart can continue despite current silence within group communications.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Akkaradet Wongpitakroj, MP for Ratchaburi and spokesman for the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party, addressed ongoing internal conflicts within the party. He noted there has been no formal meeting to resolve the issue due to the House of Representatives’ current closed session. MPs are expected to reconvene when the session reopens on July 3.

Mr. Akaradech acknowledged the quiet state of the party’s LINE group and the lack of formal discussions. He mentioned that Mr. Ekkanat Promphan, the party’s secretary-general, had provided explanations through various media, aligning with the information he has shared.

Concerns about how the situation could affect the voter base were addressed by Mr. Akaradech, who emphasized the importance of following and listening to the party secretary’s explanations. He stated that all MPs respect the party secretary’s performance and understand their continued roles in the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party.

Regarding allegations of a forged signature by an MP, the party spokesman asserted that it is the responsibility of the MP in question to clarify the matter. He has not communicated with fellow MPs, the party leader, or secretary about this issue, but anticipates other forms of communication, such as phone calls, will take place.

In response to claims by Mr. Suchart Chomklin, deputy leader of the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party, that there was an attempt to overthrow Mr. Pirapan, Mr. Akaradech stated he had not heard such an interview. He emphasized the importance of dialogue as a means to address political issues, considering both Mr. Ekkanat and Mr. Suchart hold significant roles within the party.

When questioned about potential lobbying efforts to unseat Mr. Phiraphan, Mr. Akkaradet said he had no knowledge of such dealings and deferred inquiries to Mr. Suchart directly.

Mr. Akaradech expressed optimism about resolving the party’s internal problems, suggesting that the situation would improve with forthcoming discussions. He predicted that a forum for discussion would emerge once the parliamentary session resumes, helping the party address and resolve internal conflicts.

Finally, Mr. Akaradech dismissed comparisons between the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party and the Palang Pracharath Party, citing differences in context, people, and events. He highlighted the importance of party executives considering the people’s support and anticipated beneficial discussions within the party. Mr. Akaradech also refuted any claims that Mr. Suchart would replicate the Kla Tham Party model, which separated from the Palang Pracharath Party, reaffirming the good intentions of both party leaders.
