COVID-19 tracking application PeduliLindungi’s QR code scan feature is currently integrated with the digital wallet to help people keen on entering public facilities, Chief of Digital Transformation at the Ministry of Health Setiaji stated.
“We believe that synergy and collaboration with the digital industry can have a positive impact on the recovery of this nation,” he noted in a press statement on Monday.
The QR code scan feature within PeduliLindungi can now be accessed through various transportation, shopping, travel, and digital wallet applications, he remarked.
This is based on the ministry’s observation of the people’s frequency of use of the digital wallet ever since COVID-19 struck, he stated.
PeduliLindungi’s collaboration with the digital wallet platform aims to optimize the function of the application and to facilitate the public through the digital wallet application that they use for various purposes.
CEO and Founder of DANA Vince Iswara stated that his company welcomes the positive move by the ministry to cooperate with private enterprises, application companies, in this case, to help stem the spread of COVID-19.
The corporation believes that this step can be beneficial to encourage the people, especially more than 85 million users of the company’s digital wallet, to no longer hesitate to conduct digital recording through PeduliLindungi.
Recently, the QR code scan feature within PeduliLindungi system, used to check in and out of indoor activities in public facilities, can now be accessed through third-party application.
Since September, the government has mandated managers of public spaces, such as office buildings and shopping centers, to use PeduliLindungi to help in COVID-19 contact tracing.
