Special Staff of the Minister of Communication and Information for Political Communication Philip Gobang stated that of the total 3,202,503 units needed for STB for RTM ASO Phase I, the government provided 87,310 units.

“What is provided by private broadcasters is the implementation of multiplexing as many as 3,115,193 units and the government as many as 87,310 units,” he explained in the Ceremonial and Technical Guidance on the Distribution of STB Aid for the first phase of ASO in Tegal City, which took place virtually from Central Jakarta, Monday (18/18/2011). 04/2022).

According to Stafsus Philip Gobang, the Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G. Plate has appointed PT. Pos Indonesia as the implementing partner for the distribution of STB assistance from the government to be handed over to registered poor households.

The staff of the Minister of Communication and Informatics Philip Gobang hoped that the distribution of the first phase of STB assistance could be felt and used by poor households in need.   “And in the end, access to information and education can be maintained as long as the Analog Switch Off takes place,” he said.

According to Stafsus Philip Gobang, people in the broadcast service area who are in the first stage are preparing to enter the new world of ASO or digital TV broadcasting from today.

“Because by doing so, we are helping the government, all parties, and even all stakeholders to make Analog Switch Off successful as one of the programs mandated by Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation,” he said.

Three Stages of ASO

As a follow-up to the mandate of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation in the Post-Telsiar sector, the Minister of Communication and Information, Johnny G. Plate, has divided the implementation of the Analog Switch FFF in three stages.

“The first stage is no later than 30 April 2022 in 56 broadcast service areas in 166 districts and cities, the second stage is no later than 25 August 2022 in 31 broadcast service areas covering 110 districts and cities, and the third or final stage is no later than 2 November. 2022 in 25 broadcast service areas covering 65 districts and cities,” explained Stafsus Philip Gobang.

Stafsus Philip Gobang explained that from the three stages of ASO, there were a total of 112 broadcast service areas and 341 districts/cities that would be affected by the implementation of the program.

“From a total of 225 broadcast service areas and 514 city districts throughout Indonesia, there are 113 broadcast areas and 173 districts/cities that are not covered by ASO,” he explained.

According to the Staff of the Minister of Communication and Information for Political Communication, a total of 225 broadcast service areas will then be targeted by the Digital Broadcasting   System (DBS).

“So if we look at the first stage on April 30 which will come, it means that there are only 12 days left for us to enter the first stage of ASO,” he said.

The Ministry of Communication and Informatics will continue to strive to encourage multiplexing broadcasters as partners to continue to improve the quality of digital broadcasts. In addition, socialization to viewers or communities throughout the country to immediately switch to digital broadcasting independently is also massively carried out.

“The government certainly appreciates all stakeholders and various parties who have helped in the implementation of the first phase of Analog Switch Off assistance, so that it can run safely and smoothly,” said Philip Gobang.
