Bangkok: The Pheu Thai Party has selected Chalat Khamchuang as its nominee for the position of second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives. The official vote is scheduled to take place at the House of Representatives meeting on July 24.

According to Thai News Agency, the decision was made during the weekly Pheu Thai MPs’ meeting at the Eastin Grand Phaya Thai Hotel. The Secretary-General of the Pheu Thai Party, Mr. Surawong Thienthong, announced that the meeting aimed to elect the second Deputy Speaker. Two candidates were proposed for the role: Mr. Chaiyan Phromma, a Pheu Thai MP for Nong Bua Lamphu, and Mr. Chalat Khamchuang, a Pheu Thai MP for Roi Et. The party’s MPs voted in favor of Mr. Chalat for the position.

The upcoming vote at the House of Representatives meeting on July 24 will finalize the appointment of Mr. Chalat Khamchuang as the second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
