Bangkok: A Pheu Thai Party spokesperson confirms there has been no discussion with Paethongtarn about resigning from her position before the court’s decision.
According to Thai News Agency, a Pheu Thai Party spokesperson addressed rumors that Prime Minister and Culture Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra would resign before the court’s decision. Danupon Punnakanta, a party-list MP and spokesperson for the Pheu Thai Party, clarified that the party has not yet discussed these rumors, emphasizing the seriousness of the matter. He mentioned speaking with Dr. Prommin Lertsuridej, Secretary-General to the Prime Minister, who confirmed that no such issue has been raised.
Mr. Danupon also discussed the Pheu Thai Party’s future direction, revealing that every possible solution has been considered. The Prime Minister intends to continue working, and the party is prepared to accept the court’s decision, whatever the outcome. Additionally, Mr. Chaikasem Nitisiri, the Pheu Thai Party’s third candidate for Prime Minister, is positioned to continue implementing the party’s policies and budget in Parliament.
