Bangkok: The Pheu Thai Party is ramping up its efforts to secure a victory in the upcoming Sisaket by-election by deploying its leader to the area for active campaigning. The party is committed to reclaiming the parliamentary seat by returning the MP’s heir to Parliament.
According to Thai News Agency, Danupon Punnakanta, a party-list MP and spokesperson for the Pheu Thai Party, announced the party’s strategic moves during a press conference following the weekly MP meeting. The by-election in Sisaket Province is scheduled for Sunday, September 28th. Over the past week, the party has been meticulously preparing its MPs and executive committee members to campaign in the region, with a concentrated full-time effort planned for the final days leading up to the election on Friday and Saturday.
The Pheu Thai Party is also considering the involvement of its leader, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, in the campaign. The party’s executive committee is actively discussing and preparing for her participation, including planning the locations and timings of her speeches. The aim is to strengthen their bid to ensure the return of MPs who are heirs of deceased former MPs to Parliament in the upcoming election.
