Pheu Thai Party Praises Brave Soldiers, Mourns Civilians, Pushes for Negotiating Table

Bangkok: Pheu Thai Party salutes brave soldiers and mourns civilians, reiterating that human life cannot be valued, insisting that it will not abandon the people and is ready to push the conflict to the negotiating table.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Khattiya Sawatdiphon, a party-list MP and deputy spokesperson for the Pheu Thai Party, stated that due to the tense situation and clashes along the Thai-Cambodian border, the government has been working to protect sovereignty and territorial integrity. Although the situation has now eased thanks to the Thai government’s efforts to negotiate an end to the clashes, the conflict led to significant losses. As of 31 July 2025, 17 civilians were killed, 12 seriously injured, 13 moderately injured, and 13 slightly injured, totaling 55, while 15 military personnel were killed and 196 injured, totaling 211.

“The Pheu Thai Party salutes the souls of all the brave soldiers who died while bravely defending Thailand’s sovereignty against Cambodian aggression. We also express our deepest condolences to the innocent people who fell victim to this violent situation. Every life is an unforeseen loss, and it serves as a reminder to all sectors to work together to end the conflict as quickly as possible,” Ms. Khattiya said.

Ms. Khattiya stated that, on behalf of the Pheu Thai Party, she invites the public to join in mourning the six civilian casualties who will receive royal cremation. They include Ms. Chularak Prakhan, Ms. Pitaksaporn Prakhan, Mr. Phongsaphat Prakhan, Mr. Saksit Khamwang, Ms. Arunrat Wansri, and Ms. Sarasri Onrong, who were killed in the Cambodian cross-border attack at a gas station in Sisaket Province. The ceremony will be held today at Wat Maha Phuttharam, a royal temple in Sisaket Province.

“The lives of the people are priceless. The Pheu Thai Party reaffirms that we will not abandon the people and will do everything possible to bring this conflict back to the negotiation table, preventing such losses from happening again. We will not neglect national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the dignity of the Thai nation,” the Pheu Thai Party deputy spokesperson said.

Ms. Khattiya also stated that she would like to request the cooperation of the media and influencer pages to verify the accuracy of information before it is published, as ill-intentioned individuals are currently attempting to undermine national unity. She also requested the public’s cooperation in following news and information from government agencies and verifying the authenticity of information before sharing it. She also requested that we not only address immediate issues but also build new structures to strengthen the country in the long term.
