Pheu Thai Party Stresses Importance of 2016 Budget Bill During Critical Three-Day Meeting

Bangkok: Pheu Thai Party has highlighted the significance of the 2016 budget draft, emphasizing strict adherence to quorum requirements over the course of a three-day parliamentary session.

According to Thai News Agency, Pheu Thai Party Secretary-General Sorawong Thienthong convened a meeting with party MPs prior to the House of Representatives session to discuss the fiscal year 2026 budget bill. He underscored the necessity of maintaining quorum and urged coalition parties to ensure their presence throughout the meeting. Thienthong emphasized the importance of timely attendance, instructing MPs to arrive before 9:00 a.m. for registration to avoid any delays in the commencement of the meeting. He reiterated that the meeting’s success hinged on the presence of all members and mentioned that Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, also serving as Minister of Justice, would be present.

Mr. Wisut Chainarun, President of the Pheu Thai Party and Chairman of the Government Coalition Coordination Committee, also ad
dressed MPs, highlighting the critical nature of voting and identification. He cautioned that forgetting to vote could have significant consequences and urged MPs to support each other during the process. Chainarun assured that the party leadership had coordinated with other political entities to confirm their attendance and stressed the collective effort required to ensure the budget bill’s passage within the established timeframe.
