Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister-elect, emphasized that it is within Pheu Thai’s rights to file a lawsuit with the Constitutional Court. Anutin clarified that the recent voting process, which exceeded 311 votes, was conducted with good intentions and in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the People’s Party. He insisted on adhering to the rules and reiterated his non-vengeful nature, focusing on positive aspects.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin addressed concerns related to Article 4 of the MOA, which prohibits the addition of votes. Despite this, the government plans to maintain a minority government, even though it received 311 votes. Anutin explained that the process was aligned with good intentions and that he did not feel the need to clarify further.
When questioned about the vote’s impact on the ministerial quota, Anutin responded with laughter and remarked, “It’s already over. Don’t do anything that might cause conflict or discord.” He is known for his aversion to conflict and his ability to reconcile with former adversaries, a quality he wishes to maintain.
In response to queries about Pheu Thai’s potential petition to the Constitutional Court regarding the MOA between the Bhumjaithai Party and the Prachachon Party, Anutin affirmed that all parties have the right to exercise their legal rights. He stressed that the actions taken are lawful and constitutional, emphasizing his commitment to remembering positive experiences and not dwelling on negativity.
