Pichai Awaits Final US Tax Results

Bangkok: Pichai is awaiting the final 24 hours of the US tax results, insisting the Thai team is working diligently and thoroughly in every aspect.

According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Pichai Chunhavajira stated that many members of the public and business sectors are currently asking, "How much will Thailand be subject to new U.S. trade tariffs under President Trump's reciprocal tariff policy?" Mr. Pichai clarified that the official outcome is not yet known, but the U.S. is expected to be notified within the next 24 hours. The Thailand team has been working diligently and thoroughly on all aspects, including data, trade statistics, international law, and the impact on manufacturing, exports, employment, and overall economic stability.

Team Thailand is committed to offering Thailand acceptable terms and conditions, striving to preserve the country's interests to the fullest extent possible. At the same time, it must listen to and analyze demands from the United States, one of the most "tough" and "complex" negotiating partners, particularly the content of the ART Agreement (Agreement on Reciprocal Tariffs), which contains a variety of obligations and conditions.

Over the past several weeks, the Thai team has repeatedly exchanged proposals and observations with the United States, maintaining a constructive, rational, and equal approach to finding a mutually beneficial solution for a sustainable economic relationship between the two countries. While we cannot yet predict the outcome, please be assured that the Thai negotiating team is not silent, indifferent, and will not compromise easily.

"Every issue in the negotiations has undergone in-depth analysis and is for the best interest of the nation. If the outcome exceeds expectations, we will all be delighted. However, if it falls short of expectations, I hope everyone understands that the government and the negotiating team have put in their utmost efforts. As Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, I would like to thank you for all your support and hope that we will overcome this challenge with the cooperation and encouragement of all of us," said Mr. Pichai.
