NONG SON: A tragic accident on Highway 117 Nakhon Sawan-Phitsanulok has resulted in the death of two individuals when a pickup truck veered off the road and collided with a tree. The incident occurred at kilometer 78-79 in Noen Po Subdistrict, Sam Ngao District. The driver and the front-seat passenger were pronounced dead at the scene, while another occupant was trapped inside the vehicle. Emergency responders used cutting equipment to extricate the individual, who was then transported to a hospital for treatment.

According to Thai News Agency, Nong Son Provincial Police in Phichit Province are investigating the accident involving the white pickup truck. The initial findings suggest that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, leading to the fatal crash. All occupants of the vehicle were identified as relatives traveling from Bangkok to their home in Ban Nong Rin, Wang Mok Subdistrict, Wachirabarami District. They were reportedly returning home to sign a loan contract from a village fund and were onl
y about 10 kilometers from their destination when the accident occurred.

Witnesses at the scene corroborated that the group was on a familial trip that turned tragic due to the suspected drowsiness of the driver. The authorities are continuing their investigation to confirm the circumstances surrounding the accident, but initial evidence strongly points to driver fatigue as the primary cause.
