Pickup Truck Crashes Into Centuries-Old Takian Tree, Driver Sustains Minor Injuries.


Prachuap Khiri Khan: A pickup truck lost control and crashed into a giant takian tree that is over 100 years old on Sukjit Road near Sukjit Soi 36 and Sukjit Soi 25 in the Mueang District. The driver emerged with only minor injuries.

According to Thai News Agency, the white half-cab pickup truck collided with the ancient tree, which is adorned with three-colored cloths and surrounded by offerings at the Takian Thong Shrine. The offerings include Thai silk outfits and many red roses. The impact caused significant damage to the vehicle, with the front bumper cracked, the hood dented, and debris scattered around the scene. The driver, believed to be between 30 and 35 years old, sustained injuries to his shoulders and chest and was promptly taken to Prachuap Khiri Khan Hospital for a medical evaluation by rescue workers.

The exact cause of the crash remains unclear. Friends of the injured driver suggest that he may have misjudged the curve or swerved to avoid a dog, leading to the loss of control. Meanwhile, lo
cal villagers who witnessed the incident or passed by took the opportunity to seek lucky numbers from the vehicle’s license plate or the alley’s entrance number. This area is known for the Takhian Shrine, where people have historically paid homage and made vows with successful outcomes.
