Bangkok: The Prime Minister revealed that during discussions with the Cambodian government, both parties agreed to jointly adjust military forces at points of conflict to reduce confrontation and proceed with the use of the JBC mechanism on June 14 to bring relations back to normal as soon as possible.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, posted a message on social media stating that efforts to resolve the conflict situation along the border through the operations at the policy level by the government, security sector, military, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all relevant agencies have gradually improved.
The Prime Minister shared that discussions with the Cambodian government have led to a positive conclusion for the situation. Both sides have agreed to jointly adjust military forces at the points of conflict to reduce the confrontational atmosphere. They will develop cooperation using the JBC mechanism on June 14th, with discussions at all levels to bring the relationship between the two countries back to normal as soon as possible.
The Prime Minister urged citizens to follow the situation and facts from the government and encouraged officials to continue their work until success is achieved. She asked the public to ease their concerns and have confidence in the government’s problem-solving efforts, assuring that there will be no serious conflicts.
