Jakarta (ANTARA) – National Police chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, has asked Jakarta to prepare 31 locations for self-isolation to anticipate a higher occupancy rate at Wisma Atlet COVID-19 Emergency Hospital following a spike in cases.

“We call on the provincial government and colleagues to help realize 31 locations as self-isolation centers,” he said at an online press conference that was broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat YouTube channel following a limited meeting on Monday.

He said Jakarta is among the regions which have seen a surge in COVID-19 cases in recent weeks. The other regions are East Java’s Bangkalan district, Central Java’s Kudus district, and Riau province.

“The daily COVID cases in Jakarta have reached 4,800,” he noted.’
