Bangkok: The National Police Chief has ordered an investigation into a teacher at the Royal Police Cadet Academy over the indecent conduct of a student. The investigation will focus on both disciplinary and ethical aspects, with strict actions promised if the allegations are confirmed.
According to Thai News Agency, the investigation was prompted by information shared on a well-known platform, which alleged that a police cadet had been drugged and sexually abused by a teacher and an investigator at the Police Cadet Academy. Pol Gen Kittirat Panphet, the national police chief, has instructed the commander of the Royal Police Cadet Academy to thoroughly investigate these allegations. Any police officers found guilty of such offenses will face disciplinary measures, and the ethical implications will also be scrutinized.
The implicated individual, identified as a Police Major and instructor at the academy, was reported to have previously worked in the office of Police Major General Senit Samransamruakij when he
was the Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 1. Currently, Police Major General Senit serves as the Commander of the Royal Police Cadet Academy. The Police Major had been invited to teach English and law at the academy.
The victim has been encouraged to file a formal complaint regarding the indecent act, and further investigations will determine the possibility of compromise, given the personal nature of the offense.
