National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo reviewed the implementation of the health protocols at animal theme parks Taman Safari Indonesia in Bogor, West Java, on Thursday.
After reviewing vaccination programs across Indonesia, he inspected Taman Safari Indonesia to ensure compliance with the protocols.
The visit was part of efforts to ensure the strict implementation of health protocols so that the Christmas and New Year holiday period does not lead to a COVID-19 spike.
After inspecting the tourist attraction, Prabowo also reviewed preparations for Lilin Operation at the security and service post at the Gadog intersection post, West Java.
The Gadog intersection post is the main access point for travelers to reach the Puncak area, which is among the destinations favored by tourists.
While giving a briefing at the Gadog intersection post, Prabowo asked his staff and related parties to anticipate traffic jams and enforce health protocols.
“We have two tasks on how to anticipate traffic jams and implementing the health protocols. I ask the West Java Police chief to ensure all members bring masks not only for themselves, but also distribute masks to people,” he directed.
Prabowo also told all National Police and Indonesian Defense Force (TNI) personnel to take anticipatory measures against natural disasters that could occur at any time.
“Please also ensure the readiness to handle natural disasters such as floods, landslides, and fallen trees,” he added.
Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) head Lieutenant General Suharyanto, and TNI Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Eko Margiyono, also made the visit with Prabowo.
