Police Confirm Abbot of Wat Muang Alive Amid Chronic Illness

Bangkok: Police have confirmed that Phra Nitat, the abbot of Wat Muang in Bang Khae District, is alive and currently receiving medical treatment for a chronic illness. This confirmation follows circulating rumors regarding his death.

According to Thai News Agency, the Phetkasem Police Station has verified that Phra Nitat has been hospitalized since May 2, 2025, due to his ongoing health condition. His family is closely monitoring his situation. This investigation by the police also addresses previous concerns surrounding Phra Nitat, who had spoken out against alleged embezzlement of temple funds by other members of Wat Muang.

Authorities have reassured the public that Phra Nitat’s health is stable, and there is no cause for alarm regarding his condition at this time.
