Bangkok: Peck Palitchoke may be charged with two counts as authorities await blood test results to determine the presence of drugs in his system. The results are expected in approximately seven days.
According to Thai News Agency, Police Major General Thanantorn Rattanasitthiphak, commander of Metropolitan Police Division 4, disclosed that a pickup truck driver provided a statement to investigators, recounting the incident involving Peck Palitchoke. The driver claimed that as he was driving home, Peck unexpectedly jumped onto the hood of his truck. In response, the driver turned into a gas station, exited the vehicle, and engaged in a conversation with Peck. The situation escalated, leading to an exchange with Mr. Chutithep before the driver departed, later learning about the incident through the news.
Efforts are underway to contact the taxi driver who appeared in a photo with Peck clinging to the car roof, as his statement is sought by investigators.
Peck Palitchoke has not been questioned yet due to his ongoing medical care. Investigators are prepared to interview him at the hospital if permitted by the attending doctor, or at the police station post-discharge.
Additionally, coordination is in progress to question the driver of Peck Palitchoke’s white Alphard van.
The medical team has conducted a drug test on Peck’s blood, with findings anticipated within a week. Although Peck was reported to have been drinking, he was not driving under the influence. His actions could lead to charges of assault, for allegedly punching Chutithep, and public disorder.
