The Cyber Police Commander stated that ‘Ms. K’ has already given her statement as a witness for the Technology Crime Suppression Division 1 and confessed to using the money to gamble. She will exchange information with the Anti-Corruption Division.

According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Lt. Gen. Trirong Phiwpaen, Commander of the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD), disclosed the case of ‘Sika K’, a close friend of ‘Tid Ach’, the former abbot of Wat Tri Thotsathep. She is involved with several other monks and local politicians in multiple provinces. ‘Sika K’ admitted to taking money to gamble online, losing millions of baht at a time. She met with Pol. Maj. Gen. Sirawat Deepo, Commander of the Technology Crime Suppression Division 1, as a witness to provide information. Her testimony was considered useful, as she admitted to gambling online and losing a large amount of money. This confession is considered sufficient evidence to prosecute her for the offense of gambling online without permission, which carries a maximum penalty of 3 years in prison and a fine not exceeding 5,000 baht, or both. At this time, ‘Sika K’ is still considered to be only giving testimony; no legal action has been taken.

For the gambling case, it is not related to the case under the responsibility of the Anti-Corruption Division (ACD), which is investigating corruption. However, the Cyber Police have coordinated to exchange information with the ACD.
