Pos Indonesia steps up wage subsidy distribution

State-owned enterprise PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) has expedited the distribution of wage subsidy assistance (BSU) for 3.6 million recorded workers spread across Indonesia.

BSU has been distributed simultaneously across all Pos Offices in Indonesia since November 2, 2022, the financial service business director at PT Pos Indonesia, Haris, informed in a statement issued on Friday.

“Because this is a national program, a major program, we continue to coordinate with related stakeholders. We conduct daily evaluation, vidcon (video conference) with field workers to observe the progress of this distribution,” he said.

The best solutions to problems encountered on the field will be sought so that the distribution of wage subsidy assistance can succeed, much like the previous assistance distribution, he added.

BSU distribution has posed a challenge for PT Pos Indonesia due to limited data on recipients, he said.

Hence, the company is coordinating with the Manpower Ministry, the Workers Social Security Program (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan), and the persons in charge (PIC) at the companies that the BSU recipients work for to verify the city/location of each recipient’s workplace and their employment status.

Thus far, PT Pos Indonesia has intensively disseminated information to BSU recipients on verifying whether they have been placed on the BSU recipient list. This information can be accessed on the websites bsu.bpjsketenagakerjaan.go.id and bsu.kemnaker.go.id.

Once they are declared as wage subsidy recipients, workers can check if they have been registered as BSU recipients with Pos Indonesia.

This can be done using their electronic identity card’s (e-KTP’s) identity card numbers (NIK) through PT Pos’ application Pospay.

While an account has been collectively created for all BSU recipients, Pos Indonesia is facilitating the BSU fund disbursement process, Haris said.

Thus, PT Pos will adjust the payment location with each company.

If there is an adequate number of BSU recipients within a single company (at least 20 people), then PT Pos Indonesia will send its workers directly to the company.

Meanwhile, to expedite BSU distribution and to facilitate workers, the Post Office has extended its service timings from Monday to Saturday to Monday to Sunday until 8 p.m. local time.

“BSU distribution is targeted to be completed by the end of November 2022,” head of the social aid task force at PPT Pos Indonesia (Persero), Hendrasari, said.

“We are optimistic that we can finish quicker within two or three weeks. PT Pos will intensify publication on BSU disbursal at the Post Office,” he added.

The government has announced BSU of Rp600 thousand for workers earning a maximum wage of Rp3.5 million per month provided they have been BPJS Ketenagakerjaan members as of July 2022.
