Phu Yen: President Vo Van Thuong joined the great national unity festival with the local community of Xay Dung village in the south central province of Phu Yen on the morning of November 11. Xay Dung village, located in the Suoi Trai highland commune of Son Hoa district, is primarily inhabited by the E De ethnic minority community. The village comprises 187 households, including 171 ethnic minority families, totaling 984 individuals. A significant portion of these families, over 60%, are classified as poor or near-poor.
According to Vietnam News Agency, Addressing the local residents, President Thuong underscored the importance of the spirit of great national unity, a valued tradition of the Vietnamese people. He highlighted the role this spirit has played in achieving national liberation, advancing the era of Doi moi (Reform), and overcoming various challenges, which have elevated Vietnam’s international stature. President Thuong expressed his conviction that in the current complex regional and international context, this unifying spirit remains a vital source of strength for Vietnam’s continued progress.
The President emphasized that the primary focus for Suoi Trai residents should be the eradication of hunger and the attainment of sustainable poverty reduction. He stressed the importance of education for younger generations and urged the community to collaborate in maintaining public order and security. During the event, President Thuong, along with leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Phu Yen province, presented gifts to local educators, community members, and students who have shown outstanding contributions.
