Bangkok: The Prime Minister departs for Malaysia today. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, along with key officials, embarked on a significant diplomatic mission to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to partake in the peace signing ceremony and the 47th ASEAN Summit.
According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister’s delegation includes Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, Defense Minister General Nataphol Nakphanit, and the Secretary-General to the Prime Minister, Traisulee Traisaranakul. The group departed from the Military Airport 2, Wing 6, Don Mueang, Bangkok, and is expected to arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 9:30 p.m. local time. Upon arrival, they will be greeted by Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin, the Malaysian Minister of Defence.
The Prime Minister’s agenda includes attending the opening ceremony of the 47th ASEAN Summit, the ASEAN Prize presentation, and the document signing ceremony to officially admit Timor-Leste to ASEAN. During these events, the Prime Minister will emphasize Thailand’s commitment to ASEAN’s unity and development.
Additionally, the Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with U.S. President Donald J. Trump to discuss cooperation on regional economic and security issues. A significant highlight will be the signing of the “Joint Declaration by the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand,” focusing on managing the Thai-Cambodian border. This ceremony, witnessed by the leaders of Malaysia and the United States, underscores Thailand’s dedication to enhancing Thai-Cambodian relations.
The Prime Minister will return to Thailand after fulfilling his diplomatic duties on the same day.
