Prime Minister Anutin to Attend Unique Nakhon Phanom Loi Krathong Festival 2025

Nakhon phanom: Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is set to visit the Naga region to participate in the unique “Nakhon Phanom Loi Krathong” World Loi Krathong Festival in 2025.

According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister’s Office Spokesperson Siripong Angkasakulkiat announced that Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul will attend the festival on Tuesday, October 7th, under the theme “Nakhon Phanom Loi Krathong Festival: Light of Faith.” This festival is known for being the only one of its kind globally.

The Prime Minister will depart from Military Airport 2, Wing 6 (Don Mueang) for Nakhon Phanom Airport at approximately 3:15 PM. Upon arrival, he will visit St. Joseph Nakhon Phanom School (Santyanan) in Nong Saeng Subdistrict, Mueang Nakhon Phanom District, to present government policies to civil servants and the public.

At 6:00 PM, the Prime Minister will preside over the opening ceremony of the ‘Nakhon Phanom World Loi Krathong Festival 2025.’ The event aims to elevate the Thai Loi Krathong Festival to a global level and will be held in front of Wat Pho Si. The festival will feature a light and sound performance, an eco-friendly fireworks display, an international performance, a contest of 12 boats from all districts of Nakhon Phanom Province, and a procession of illuminated boats on land known as the ‘Nakhon Phanom Illuminated Boat Carnival.’ The Prime Minister is scheduled to return to Bangkok at approximately 9:30 PM, though the schedule is subject to change.

The festival, in conjunction with the Red Cross Fair, spans from September 27 to October 8, 2025, lasting 12 days and 12 nights. A highlight of the event is on October 7, 2025, coinciding with the end of Buddhist Lent. Organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Nakhon Phanom Province, the festival aims to enhance international recognition, boost the local economy, and position Nakhon Phanom as a “World-Class Cultural Destination.”
