We added a one-kilometer jogging track in November 2022
Jakarta The Ragunan Zoo management opened a jogging track to increase facilities and infrastructure and to improve services for visitors.
“We added a one-kilometer jogging track in November 2022,” Ragunan Zoo’s public relations staff Wahyudi Bambang remarked here on Saturday.
The new jogging track, which surrounds the lake in the zoo, allows visitors to not only go around but also to maintain their health by taking time to exercise.
Bambang said visitors can conduct a variety of activities on the jogging track, such as running, cycling, strolling, and taking pictures.
People can relax while enjoying the lake’s scenery on the orange-colored track.
The management also allows the zoo visitors to sit back and enjoy a picnic around the lake where some stalls offer food and beverages at affordable prices.
“In future, we plan to add more facilities to increase the visitors’ comfort at Ragunan Zoo,” Bambang remarked.
Furthermore, Ragunan Zoo also urged the community to participate in maintaining the beauty and the provided facilities.
“It is hoped that visitors will have the self-awareness to maintain facilities and cleanliness, so that everyone can visit comfortably,” Bambang remarked.
According to the zoo’s data, as of 2 p.m. local time on Saturday, there were 34,879 visitors, thereby enlivening the place. In addition, there were 2,906 two-wheelers, 52 buses, 141 bicycles, and 2,467 four-wheelers parked at the zoo, while 3,413 people were visiting the Schmutzer Primate Center.
Earlier, the Ragunan Zoo management expressed its readiness to receive a surge in visits, especially during the Christmas and New Year holidays, by preparing adequate parking facilities.
“Entering the Christmas holiday, (the number of) visitors will definitely increase and can reach 70 thousand people. We have prepared everything, including parking,” Bambang stated.
He also urged visitors to wear a mask and implement health protocols in anticipation of an increase in COVID-19 cases during the year-end holidays.
