Reserve Senators Show Support for DSI in Senator Collusion Investigation

Bangkok: Reserve Senators present bouquets of flowers to encourage the DSI Director-General and the Special Case Investigation Team to reveal the truth about the collusion case. Senators are not afraid of interference and are ready to be a copper wall and an iron wall to work to the end.

According to Thai News Agency, at the Department of Special Investigation, Pol. Lt. Gen. Khamrob Panyakaew, a representative of the reserve senators, along with fellow members, presented a bouquet of flowers to encourage Pol. Lt. Col. Yuthana Phraedam, Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation, and the special case investigation team. They emphasized the importance of conducting a fair investigation into the senator collusion case, urging the team to pursue the truth to the end, despite potential interference. Pol. Lt. Col. Wisanu Chimtrakul, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation, accepted the bouquet on behalf of the Director-General and expressed gratitude to the reserve senators for their support.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Kamrob stated that the group of reserve senators and applicants for senatorial positions aimed to bolster the morale of DSI officers handling the case. He mentioned recent criticisms and complaints filed against the DSI, which he believes are tactics used by the accused. Despite these challenges, he expressed confidence in the DSI’s progress, noting that notices have been sent to 50-60 people involved, requesting their testimonies and defenses against the allegations.

He further asserted that the reserve senators will continue to support the DSI as a “copper wall and iron wall,” ensuring the investigation achieves its objectives for the country’s benefit. He criticized complaints filed by some groups, including efforts to dissolve the 26th Investigation and Inquiry Subcommittee or to halt the DSI Director-General’s duties, as unreasonable and unethical. The senators have already filed complaints to investigate those involved in these actions.

Pol. Lt. Col. Wisanu thanked the reserve senators for their encouragement, pledging to maintain adherence to facts and evidence in the DSI’s work and to uphold integrity within the legal framework.
