Revenue Department Unveils New Digital System for VAT and SBT

Bangkok: The Revenue Department has announced the launch of a new system, 'D-VAT and SBT,' designed to streamline services related to Value Added Tax (VAT) and Specific Business Tax (SBT).

According to Thai News Agency, the Director-General of the Revenue Department, Mr. Pinsai Suraswadi, explained that the D-VAT and SBT system integrates all services into a unified digital platform. This encompasses everything from registration and data updates to tax return submission and refund processing. The initiative is centered around a Taxpayer Centric approach, focusing on providing accessible and secure services.

The system's development involved using Design Thinking and Agile Methodology to address existing challenges and deliver solutions tailored to user needs. Emphasizing user experience, the department engaged sample users to help refine the system, aiming to reduce complexity and enhance usability.

Mr. Suraswadi highlighted that the new system allows users to access services independently and efficiently across various devices. The initiative is part of the department's broader strategy to embrace digital transformation and improve tax management processes, benefiting both business operators and officials.
