Royal Thai Air Force Ensures Security After Identifying Suspicious Aircraft Near Border

Bangkok: The Royal Thai Air Force has confirmed that there is no threat to national security following the detection of a suspicious aircraft near the Thai border, opposite Amphoe Phop Phra, Tak Province.

According to Thai News Agency, Air Chief Marshal Prapas Sornjaidee, spokesman for the Air Force, stated that at 1:03 p.m., two F-16 fighter jets from Wing 4 were dispatched from Takhli Airport. This decision came after air traffic control and alert units identified a suspicious aircraft near the border. The aircraft in question was a YAK-130 high-performance model, which was flying towards the Thai border at a close range.

The Air Force took measures to verify the situation and project a deterrent stance, in line with standard procedures. The aircraft was tracked and subsequently altered its course, leaving the vicinity of the border by 13:16. It did not display any hostile behavior or intent that could compromise the country’s security.

The Air Force reassured the public that this event was part of a routine operation aimed at monitoring and safeguarding airspace. The objective is to consistently uphold national sovereignty and assure the safety and confidence of the citizens.

Furthermore, coordination with local security agencies is ongoing to keep the situation under close watch. Any further developments will be communicated as necessary.
