Royal Thai Army Accuses Cambodia of Ceasefire Violation for Second Time

Bangkok: The Royal Thai Army has issued a statement accusing Cambodia of violating the ceasefire agreement for the second time, undermining the peaceful resolution of the situation. The army has condemned this action and reiterated its commitment to taking appropriate and decisive measures to protect Thai sovereignty.

According to Thai News Agency, the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia had previously agreed to a ceasefire to end military clashes along the border, with the agreement becoming effective from midnight on July 28, 2025. The Royal Thai Army emphasized that it has strictly adhered to the agreement, ceasing all forms of force and reducing military activities to foster an atmosphere of peace and trust.

However, reports from local units indicated that the Cambodian Army violated the ceasefire on July 29-30, 2025. In the Chong Khan Ma area of Sisaket Province, Cambodian forces reportedly engaged in small arms fire against Thai forces on the night of Ju
ly 29, leading to a clash that lasted for 30 minutes.

Further violations were reported in the Khao Phra Wihan area, where Cambodian forces allegedly fired small arms and grenade launchers from 10:00 p.m. on July 29, prompting a response from Thai forces in self-defense. Shooting reportedly continued intermittently until the morning of July 30. Additionally, in the Pha Mor E Daeng area, a grenade launcher was detected firing from the Cambodian side into Thai territory on the morning of July 30.

The Royal Thai Army stated that these actions by the Cambodian military represent a serious violation of the ceasefire agreement and reflect a disregard for international obligations. The Army reiterated its commitment to principles of tolerance and peace but warned that further violations would prompt decisive action to protect Thai sovereignty and the safety of its people.
