Royal Thai Army helicopters fly urgently to pick up critical patients in remote areas

Life-threatening moment: Pha Muang Task Force supports Skydoctor medical team by flying army aircraft to urgently receive critical patients in remote areas.

Reporters reported that the Pha Muang Army Aviation Task Force has supported the Army pilots with a Bell 212 helicopter for medical personnel of the National Institute of Emergency Medicine (NIEM) to receive an emergency patient by air, a 54-year-old man with ischemic heart disease who needed urgent treatment from a hospital with higher capacity. The patient was transferred from Mae Ai Hospital, Mae Ai District, Chiang Mai Province to Nakhon Ping Hospital, Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province within a flight time of approximately 45 minutes. Although they are in the same province, due to the mountainous terrain, traveling by car would take a long time, making the transfer by aircraft faster, reducing the time of injury, severity of the disease, and mortality rate.

With this assistance, the patient reached the destination hospital and was assessed and
treated by a team of doctors to ensure close and safe care.
