Royal Thai Army Honors Fallen Soldiers with Royal Cremation Ceremony

Bangkok: The Royal Thai Army held a royal cremation ceremony to honor four soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, granting them posthumous military ranks and promotions.

According to Thai News Agency, the ceremony, held on July 30, 2015, was organized by the Royal Thai Army in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and local government agencies. The soldiers lost their lives while protecting national sovereignty on the Thai-Cambodian border. General Pana Klaewplodthuk, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, delegated senior commanders to attend the ceremony and pay respects to the deceased.

The ceremony honored Sgt. Chirayu Singh-on, who served as a patrolman with the 6th Long Range Reconnaissance Company, 6th Infantry Division. Sgt. Singh-on died on July 25, 2015, while on duty in Surin Province. His cremation was held at Wat Talat Rajamangkol, Roi Et Province, with General Nattawut Nakanakorn presiding. He received a seven-level promotion to Second Lieutenant, accompanied by financial assistance and compensation totaling 2,204,903 baht for his heirs.

Police Senior Sergeant Major Woranchit Yuangsuwan, who served in the Heavy Grenade Launcher Company, 13th Infantry Regiment, was honored posthumously after dying on July 24, 2015, in Sisaket Province. General Thongchai Rodyoi presided over his ceremony at Wat Sawang Arom, Nakhon Phanom Province. Sgt. Maj. Yuangsuwan was given a nine-level promotion to Second Lieutenant, with financial support for his family amounting to 1,140,341 baht.

Sgt. Nopphon Boonlert, another patrolman from the 6th Long Range Reconnaissance Company, died on July 25, 2015, in Surin Province. His cremation took place at Wat Su San Trailak, Ubon Ratchathani Province, under the supervision of General Chitsanupong Rodsiri. He was posthumously promoted to Second Lieutenant, with his family receiving 2,128,842 baht in assistance.

Lastly, Sgt. Maj. Kritsada Noikhot, a radio operator with the 6th Long Range Reconnaissance Company, was honored after his death on July 25, 2015, in Surin Province. Lt. Gen. Thawatchai Tangphitakkul presided over his ceremony at Wat Khositaram, Amnat Charoen Province. He was posthumously promoted to Second Lieutenant, with his heirs receiving 2,061,513 baht.

The Royal Thai Army emphasized its commitment to supporting the families of these heroes, recognizing their ultimate sacrifice for the nation.
