Sakon nakhon: Another incident has emerged in the Buddhist community as police uncovered a monk and a laywoman together in a sedan parked on the side of a canal in Ban Phan, Khamin Subdistrict, Mueang District, Sakon Nakhon Province. The monk, identified as Phra Chainarong, 53, was from a temple in So Phisai District, Bueng Kan Province. Upon discovery, authorities performed a disrobing ceremony for the monk at a nearby temple and conducted a urine test, which returned negative for drugs. However, the vehicle was found to have a fake license plate, prompting its seizure for further investigation.

According to Thai News Agency, reporters visiting the Khumin Police Station observed the sedan parked among evidence storage. The vehicle’s side and rear windows were heavily tinted, while the front window remained clear, revealing the interior. Inside, a pile of monk’s robes belonging to Tid Chainarong was found on the passenger seat. In the back seat, there were several boxes of envelopes similar to phaapaa envelopes, along with a pile of used tissue paper stained with a cloudy yellow substance, raising eyebrows.

Further investigation into the car’s registration revealed that the registered owner had already passed away. The vehicle’s chassis number indicated another individual as the current possessor. It was discovered that the sedan was donated to a temple, ultimately leading to the monk’s use of the car to meet with the laywoman.

Officials plan to contact the current vehicle owner to clarify the car’s origins and conduct a thorough investigation. Should any illegal activities be identified, appropriate legal actions will be pursued against the involved parties.
