SEA Games: Jambi athletes win 11 medals for Indonesia

Jambi Athletes from Jambi Province contributed 11 medals for the Indonesian contingent comprising three gold, six silver, and two bronze on the ninth day after the SEA Games Vietnam’s opening.

Chairman of the Jambi National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI), Budi Setiawan, remarked that the medals came from the Rowing, Wushu, and 3×3 Basketball sports branches.

“There are eight athletes from Jambi that strengthen the Indonesian contingent and three golds were won by the Jambi rowing athletes,” Setiawan noted in Jambi on Saturday.

Athletes from Jambi that successfully contributed gold medals are M. Ali Mardiansyah in the men’s rowing lightweight quadruple sculls, Joko Andriyanto in the men’s kayak four 1,000m event, and Dedi Saputra in the men’s canoe four 500m event, he pointed out.

Saputra also bagged a silver medal in the kayak four 1,000m event, while two other silver medals were won by Riska Andriyani in the women’s canoe single 1,000m and the women’s canoe single 500m events.
