SEHA celebrates notable achievements in 2022, including 5.1 million outpatient visits

 

BU DHABI, 27th February, 2023 (WAM) — Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), part of the PureHealth Group, has announced its key achievements in 2022 from the latest report curated by the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

Some of SEHA’s most notable achievements in 2022 include the closure of its COVID-19 testing centres and 5.1 million outpatient visits throughout the year. Collectively, a total of 42,000 surgeries were conducted at SEHA facilities across Abu Dhabi, in addition to completing 1.7 million virtual outpatient consultations.

Moreover, by the end of 2022, SEHA had 25 accredited residency programmes, 2,532 scientific publications (2010-2021) and 607 graduate nurses trained (2011-2022).

In terms of major milestones during the year, SEHA was acquired by the PureHealth Group in early 2022, an acquisition that has positively impacted SEHA, as well as its patients and employees.

s part of the PureHealth Group with hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centres, and insurance solutions, SEHA is collaborating with the clinical staff and specialist healthcare entities such as Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Centre; National Health Insurance Company  Daman; Rafed  the UAE’s largest healthcare procurement company among others, and benefiting from the comprehensive business and healthcare specialities ecosystem.

In line with its mandate to provide patients with high-quality healthcare access regardless of their location, SEHA’s teleconsultation services and medication home delivery reached greater heights in 2022. Patients benefited from expert virtual consultations from skilled physicians on a wide range of health issues including chronic conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure, followed by home delivery/pharmacy pick up alternatives for their medication needs.

In terms of collaborations and expansion efforts, SEHA supported Salma Hospital in expanding its services from 83 beds to 226 in 2022 through the provision of 52 beds at SKMC (90% capacity), 27 beds at Al-Ain Hospital (90% capacity) with 100-140 beds to be added in 2023, and 65 beds at Al Rahba Hospital.

s for SEHA’s exceptional performers in providing quality health services, SKMC, Corniche Hospital and Madinat Zayed Hospital earned the top rankings for 2022 based on the Abu Dhabi healthcare quality index.

Other notable achievements in 2022 include, Al Rahba Hospital opened a new urgent care centre; Al Ain Hospital reopened its urgent care centre to treat non-COVID-19 related cases and offer citizens and residents access to a wide range of medical services; the Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital in Umm Al Quwain became operational in addition to the Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) in Ajman; SEHA repositioned SKMC as a centre of excellence in pediatrics specialising in cardiology, orthopedics, rehabilitation, neurology, and kidney and spinal cord transplantations; and Al Rahba Hospital launched its centre of disease and epidemiology.
