Surin: A soldier identified as Sergeant Theerapol, who suffered a leg amputation after stepping on a landmine, is currently showing signs of recovery.
According to Thai News Agency, the landmine incident, which resulted in the loss of Sergeant Theerapol’s left leg, occurred due to an anti-personnel mine allegedly planted by the Cambodian side. He is now receiving treatment, and his condition is gradually improving.
In response to the incident, Surin Hospital has been actively engaging with the community to secure necessary blood donations. Since the morning of the incident, a significant number of public members, along with students and hospital staff, have donated blood type AB for Sergeant Theerapol. The hospital’s blood bank has confirmed that it now has an adequate supply of blood for the injured soldiers.
Additionally, the Second Army Region has announced the successful acquisition of sufficient concertina wire to fulfill its requirements for territorial defense and national security purposes. With the supply now meeting the demand, the distribution of concertina wire has been halted. The Second Army Region expressed gratitude for the cooperation and support received from various sectors in contributing to this effort.
