The Seribu Islands District is building cooperation for the construction of kiosks on Sunrise Beach, Pramuka Island, to support the sales of products made by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Most of the products would come from MSME players based in Panggang Island, North Seribu Islands Sub-district, Seribu Islands district head Junaedi said in a statement released here on Monday.
The district government is exploring the cooperation through the social and environmental responsibility program (TJSL) of the state sea transportation firm PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Pelni), he informed.
“We will try to work together with one of the state-owned shipping companies PT Pelni for community economic recovery through building MSME stalls on Sunrise Beach,” he remarked.
He said he hopes that the construction of MSME kiosks can help business players in marketing their products.
According to Junaedi, through better marketing, MSME products can be made more saleable and the public can also enjoy the attractions of Sunrise Beach, which is one of the new beach tourism icons on Pramuka Island at Panggang Island village.
“We hope that the plan can be realized soon, so it can be used by the public to sell food and accessories to tourists,” Junaedi said.
Meanwhile, PT Pelni’s acting manager for TJSL, Septiani Khadijah Thalib, said that the requirements of economic development in Seribu Islands, especially on Pramuka Island, will be carried out gradually.
The development is currently focused on the environment, and one of the efforts is to restore the mangrove forest ecosystem through mangrove tree seedling and replanting activities in the Kampung Harapan Bersama area in Pramuka Island, she informed.
“If the development is going well, we will continue to the economic field. The economy is still affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, hopefully, the collaboration will be realized soon,” she expounded.
