Seven Central Java districts given one week for boosting vaccinations

Semarang Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo has issued a warning to seven districts with vaccination rates below 50 percent and given them a one-week deadline to ramp up immunization.

“There are five areas with the lowest vaccination rate for dose one, namely Banjarnegara, Tegal, Purbalingga, Pemalang, and Wonosobo. While areas with vaccination rates less than 50 percent are Jepara and Batang. This week they should be at 50 percent,” Pranowo informed on Monday.

The seven regions are Banjarnegara District, which has recorded a vaccination rate of 40.54 percent, Tegal District (44.09 percent), Purbalingga District (44.56 percent), Pemalang District (46.79 percent), Wonosobo District (47.20 percent), Jepara District (47.21 percent), and Batang District (48.84 percent).

Pranowo directed all regions in Central Java to meet the vaccination target, saying the central government has already delivered sufficient stocks of COVID-19 vaccines for the purpose.
