Start the Tunnel Boring Machine for the Purple Line, Saphan Phut-Sam Yot

Bangkok: The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) has commenced the drilling of a tunnel beneath the Chao Phraya River as part of the Purple Line extension project. This development is under contract for three sections, stretching from Phan Fa to Saphan Phut, marking a significant progression in the city's transport infrastructure.

According to Thai News Agency, the latest civil works for the project have advanced by 59.49%, surpassing the scheduled timeline. The extension aims to enhance connectivity, with the Tao Poon-National Library section projected to become operational by 2028. The complete line is expected to be finished by 2030, offering a boost to the urban transit network.
