Supachai Asserts No Encroachment on Khao Kradong Amidst Khao Daeng Verdict

Bangkok: Supachai Jaisamut, Chairman of the Legal Working Group of the Bhumjaithai Party, has publicly declared that there has been no encroachment on the Khao Kradong site. He directed a pointed query at Decha-Isara Khaothong, whose relative has been convicted for encroaching on another site.

According to Thai News Agency, Supachai took to his personal Facebook page to address the recent verdict by the Songkhla Provincial Court. The court sentenced Natthanan Chansawang, Mr. Chanchaya Chansawang, and Mr. Kong Chansawang to six years in prison for trespassing on the Khao Noi historical site in Songkhla Province.

Supachai emphasized that while no invasion occurred at Khao Kradong, the encroachment took place at the ancient site of Khao Daeng. The individuals involved in the encroachment are related to Mr. Decha-Isara Khaothong, the Deputy Minister of the Interior. The court’s decision included a six-year prison sentence and a fine of 10.5 million baht. Supachai questioned what Mr. Decha-Isara would have to say regarding this situation.
