Buriram: Buriram residents with title deeds prepare to make statements regarding the Khao Kradong land issue. 995 Buriram residents, business owners, and legal entities, who hold title deeds for 5,083 rai of land in Khao Kradong, are preparing to hold a press conference at Chang International Circuit on August 7th, before taking the media to see the actual area, following the Ministry of Interior’s announcement of the land revocation.
According to Thai News Agency, on August 7, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Chang International Circuit in Buriram Province, Buriram residents, business operators, and legal entities with legal land title deeds in areas claimed by the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) who were affected by the press conference held by the Minister of the Interior and the Deputy Minister of the Interior, held a joint press conference to revoke 5,083 rai (995 cases) of land title deeds in Khao Kradong, Buriram Province. They also led the media to visit the 5,083 rai affected by the press conference held by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, and Mr. Decha Isara Khaothong, Deputy Minister of the Interior, in his capacity as supervising officer of the Land Department, who jointly held a press conference on the Khao Kradong land case in Buriram Province on August 1, 2015, which was declared government land. The revocation order was issued effective August 2, 2015.
News reports indicate that Buriram United president Newin Chidchob will not be attending the press conference on August 7th. He will be sending his lawyer to attend in his place.
