Supreme Court Orders Dr. Kes to Cease Duties Amid False Professorship Allegations

Bangkok: The Supreme Court has accepted an Election Commission request to order Dr. Kesakamon Pliansamai to stop performing her duties. The request comes as part of a complaint filed with the Senate President concerning Dr. Kesakamon’s alleged use of a false professorship to apply for a Senate position. The court is set to review evidence related to the case on September 10.

According to Thai News Agency, the Supreme Court’s Election Division accepted the Election Commission’s petition, designated as Case No. Lt.Sw.11/2568, on July 29. The petition calls for criminal prosecution and the revocation of Dr. Kesakamon’s voting rights, citing that she allegedly misrepresented her educational qualifications in order to deceive others about her qualifications, knowledge, abilities, or reputation, in violation of Section 77 (4).

The alleged actions are considered fraudulent in the context of applying for a Senate position. Consequently, the Supreme Court’s Election Division has directed Dr. Kesakamon to cease her duties and informed the Senate President of the situation. The examination of evidence has been scheduled for September 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in Courtroom 5 of the Supreme Court Building.
