Bangkok: Surawong Thienthong, Minister of Tourism and Sports and Secretary-General of the Pheu Thai Party, has dismissed rumors suggesting that Prime Minister and Minister of Culture, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, is planning to resign following the passage of the 2026 Budget Bill by the House of Representatives. He assured that her morale remains strong and that the situation will not impact the Pheu Thai Party.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Surawong emphasized that Ms. Paethongtarn’s participation in the alms-giving ceremony today is a testament to her continued commitment to her role. He confirmed that the party is not concerned about the rumors and has not engaged in any discussions regarding the Prime Minister’s resignation.
Mr. Surawong further reassured that the Pheu Thai Party remains undeterred by the rumors, maintaining high morale and confidence in its leadership.
