Surrender of YouTubers After Shooting at Police in E-Cigarette Sting

Bangkok: Toon P.C.N.3-Dearlai, two YouTubers with a history involving drugs and firearms, surrendered after shooting at police during a sting operation to buy e-cigarettes. They claimed they mistook the police for rivals.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Naphonthorn, known as Toon P.C.N.3, aged 35, and Mr. Sorasak, nicknamed “Dear Lai,” aged 39, were involved in a shootout that injured two officers at Pak Khlong Rangsit Police Station. The incident occurred while they were attempting to buy e-cigarettes, leading to a chase that ended with their vehicle being disabled by police gunfire. The duo abandoned their vehicle in a Don Mueang garage parking lot and fled on foot. This led the Pathum Thani Provincial Court to issue arrest warrants on six charges.

On the afternoon of June 30, the suspects’ relatives contacted authorities to arrange their surrender, citing the pressure they faced. During their escort to the interrogation room, Mr. Toon explained that he and Mr. Dear fired at the officers because they believed they were under attack by rivals, a situation they had faced before.

Initial investigations revealed the use of an unregistered firearm and shooting at close range, which could lead to charges of attempted murder of an officer and an assistant officer. Additional charges related to firearms and the e-cigarette incident are expected. The two injured officers are currently safe and receiving medical treatment.
