Songkhla: Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the arson attack on the car of former Democrat MP Sirichoke Sopha in Tambon Chang, Amphoe Nathawi, Songkhla Province. The authorities are currently interrogating the individual to ascertain whether he acted independently or was contracted to commit the crime.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident involved an electric car parked outside Mr. Sirichoke’s residence, which caught fire unexpectedly in the middle of the night. Notably, the car was not being charged at the time, prompting the manufacturer to apologize and conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle’s remains. During this examination, an unusual rubber sheet that did not belong to the car was discovered burned beneath it, raising suspicions of foul play.
Mr. Sirichoke has confirmed the arrest of the suspect and expressed gratitude for the public’s support and the police’s swift action in apprehending the individual. The investigation continues to determine the suspect’s motives and any potential accomplices.
