CIB Police Capture Smugglers of Chinese Migrant Workers on Highway 12

Mueang tak: CIB police arrested two men who were smuggling four Chinese migrant workers on Highway 12 in Mueang District, Tak Province. They confessed that they were paid 6,000 baht each.

According to Thai News Agency, the Central Investigation Bureau and Highway Police conducted a joint operation to capture the suspects after receiving a tip-off from the Narcotics Suppression Bureau. The intelligence suggested that two suspicious pickup trucks were traveling along the route, possibly carrying illegal items. Acting on this information, officers quickly intercepted the vehicles at kilometer marker 114-115.

Upon inspection, the police discovered four Chinese men inside the cabin of the intercepted vehicles. The individuals lacked passports or any form of identification documents, leading officers to suspect that they had entered and remained in Thailand without legal permission. The apprehended men admitted to being paid 6,000 baht each by an individual identified as Mr. Ton to transport the Chinese nationals.

The operation highlights ongoing efforts by Thai law enforcement agencies to curb illegal smuggling activities and enforce immigration laws within the kingdom.
