Phrae: The Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) and Region 5 Provincial Police arrested three suspects with 590,000 methamphetamine pills hidden in a modified pickup truck at Huai Rai checkpoint in Phrae Province. The operation took place as authorities intensified their crackdown on drug trafficking activities in the region.
According to Thai News Agency, the suspects were apprehended after a routine inspection at the checkpoint led to the discovery of the methamphetamine pills. The pickup truck had been modified to include a secret compartment specifically designed for concealing illegal substances, indicating a sophisticated attempt to evade law enforcement.
The ONCB and Provincial Police Region 5 have been coordinating efforts to disrupt drug trafficking networks operating in and around Phrae Province. The seizure of such a substantial quantity of methamphetamine pills signifies a significant victory in their ongoing battle against the illegal drug trade.
