Tangerang Mayor Arief R Wismansyah has said the city has met the Health Ministry’s criteria to lower its Public Activity Restrictions (PPKM) status to Level 1 as of October 26, 2021.
With confirmed COVID-19 cases at 1.10 percent, hospitalized patients at 0.18 percent, and death cases at 0.04 percent, the city has become eligible for Level 1 status, Wismansyah informed on Friday.
“Tangerang city is at Level 1 of the spread of COVID-19 based on the Ministry of Health’s assessment. Hopefully, this result can be maintained, especially for tracing people with close contact ratio,” he added.
He said that the testing, tracing, and treatment (3T) activities carried out by Tangerang Health Service are currently in the adequate category, with a test positivity rate of 0.16 percent, a confirmation close contact ratio of 14.78, and a hospital bed occupancy rate (BOR) of 2.26 per week.
As of October 28, 2021, the city had 30 active cases, 29,845 recoveries, and 492 deaths, he informed.
The decline in its PPKM status was supported by several factors, such as increased community discipline in implementing the health protocols and opening of vaccination centers, including at the Tangerang City Hospital, the mayor said.
The Tangerang health service is currently providing vaccinations for residents aged 12 years and over, the elderly, and people with comorbidities, he said. The type of vaccine provided is Pfizer and residents can register themselves through the vaccination.tangerangkota.go.id, he added.
“Residents who have not been vaccinated can come to the hospital and register online,” he informed.
Another factor that has supported the decrease in the city’s PPKM status is the use of QR Codes provided in the PeduliLindungi application, which has been installed in 339 locations and will continue to be added, Wismansyah said.
Head of the Tangerang City Health Office, Dr. Dini, said that as of October 28, 1,322,944 people have received the first vaccine dose and 938,545 had obtained the second dose. Meanwhile, the vaccination program in Tangerang city is targeting 1,479,301 people.
“The achievement of the first dose of vaccines has reached 89.4 percent and the second dose has reached 63.4 percent. We continue to optimize vaccination activities, especially at the elementary school level in which face-to-face learning (PTM) has started to run,” she added.
