Tangerang: Indonesian Police Officers Facilitate Delivery of Humanitarian Aid to Gaza

Tangerang, Banten (ANTARA) – Nine Indonesian police officers have been deployed to assist in the delivery of a significant portion of Indonesia’s humanitarian aid to the people in the besieged Gaza Strip. The National Police (Polri) confirmed the dispatch of these officers as part of a mission to transport 26.5 tons out of the total 51.5 tons of aid allocated for Palestine.

According to Antara News Agency, Head of the National Police’s International Relations Division, the officers departed for Egypt’s El Arish International Airport on Sunday evening. They traveled on an Airbus A330 from Soekarno Hatta International Airport, accompanied by personnel from the Foreign Ministry and several journalists.

Upon their arrival in Egypt, the team, including officials from the Indonesian Foreign Ministry, will coordinate with Egyptian authorities for the onward transportation of the aid to Gaza. Murti emphasized the importance of this mission and urged Indonesians to pray for its success. The Gaza Strip has been experiencing severe difficulties due to Israeli bombardment since the war began on October 7.

Murti highlighted the contents of the humanitarian packages, which include health equipment, food, tents, and blankets, all crucial for the relief efforts in Gaza. He specifically mentioned that the Polri contributed 100 tents capable of accommodating up to five thousand people, along with one thousand winter blankets and jackets, to the aid consignment.

This initiative represents a significant effort by Indonesia to provide relief to the Palestinian people during a critical time of need.
