‘Teachers Council’ announced the 38th ASEAN+1 Teachers Council Meeting under the theme ‘Promoting Education for Happiness and Sustainability’ to be held from 6-8 September 2024 at The Berkeley Hotel, Bangkok, with over 900 participants from 10 countries.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Amolwan Weeratammo, Secretary-General of the Teachers Council, along with Dr. Suda Suk-am and Asst. Prof. Dr. Ponrapee Thummaphan, Deputy Secretary-Generals of the Teachers Council, jointly held a press conference on the 38th ASEAN Council of Teachers + Korea (ACT+1) Convention. Asst. Prof. Dr. Amolwan said that Thailand, represented by the Teachers Council Secretariat, Ministry of Education, is hosting the 38th ASEAN Council of Teachers + Korea (ACT+1) Convention under the theme ‘Promoting Happy Schooling and Sustainability in Education’ from September 6-8, 2024 at The Berkeley Hotel, Pratunam, Bangkok. The conference was attended by 900 participants from 10 member countries, namely Brunei Darussalam, Kingdom of Cambodia, Republic of Indone
sia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Federation of Malaysia, Republic of the Philippines, Republic of Singapore, Kingdom of Thailand, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and Republic of Korea.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Amolwan continued that the 38th ASEAN+1 Teachers Council Meeting has an important goal for education in the ASEAN region, which is to cooperate in working to create knowledge and mutual understanding in the philosophy, activities, cultures and minds of ASEAN people, and to promote and cooperate with the ASEAN Community in implementing projects and plans that have mutual benefits in the teaching profession, education, science and culture, to help members develop educational activities that focus on supporting and promoting the goals and ideologies of ASEAN, which is in line with the education policy of ‘Good learning, happy learning’ of Pol. Gen. Permpoon Chidchob, Minister of Education, which focuses on improving the quality of education, students, teachers and parents to be happy and sustainable.

a said that the Teachers Council Secretariat received good cooperation from 17 government agencies, private sectors, and related organizations, including SEAMEO Regional Center for STEM Education, Expolink Global Network Co., Ltd., Princess Maha Chakri Award Foundation, CP-Meiji Co., Ltd., Bunditpatanasilpa Institute, lecturers from higher education institutions, National Teachers Union Association, Federation of Teachers Associations of Thailand, Private School Teachers Association of Thailand, Educational Supervisors Association of Thailand, Elementary School Administrators Association of Thailand, Municipality School Administrators Association of Thailand, English Language Teachers Association of Thailand, Deputy Director of Basic Education Institutions Association of Thailand, Secondary School Administrators Association of Thailand, Private Technological and Vocational Colleges Association of Thailand, and Female Secondary School Administrators Association of Thailand, who will be representatives of Thail
and to welcome the various member countries attending the meeting.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Polrapee said that the important activities of the 38th ASEAN+1 Teachers Council Conference will start from welcoming the participants, the meeting between the leaders of the ASEAN Teachers Council member organizations, the welcome party, which will feature a performance to promote Thai culture. On September 7, 2024, there will be an official opening ceremony chaired by Pol. Gen. Phetphun. Then there will be a special lecture on the topic of “The Power of Happiness Towards Sustainable Education” by Prof. Dr. Wichian Panich and a panel discussion on “Transforming Teaching and Learning for Happiness and Sustainability”. The presentation of country reports on various topics, including interesting parallel sessions, including the approval and signing of the resolutions of this meeting, along with the presentation of the ASEAN+1 Teachers Council flag to the next host country.
