TGAT Exam Applications Surge to 315,483 as Policy Change Supports Free Applications.

Bangkok: The number of students applying for the TGAT exam in the TCAS 68 system has reached 315,483, following a policy adjustment by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation to support free examination costs for students nationwide.

According to Thai News Agency, this surge in applications comes after Ms. Supamas Isaraphakdi, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, authorized the policy change. The collaboration between the Ministry and the Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT) aims to alleviate financial pressure on students by allowing free applications for the TGAT, a general aptitude test. The number of applicants increased by 30,350 compared to the previous year, when 285,133 students applied for TCAS 67. Furthermore, the overall interest in TCAS 68 saw 323,139 potential applicants, up by 33,727 from the previous cycle.

Ms. Supamas highlighted the positive impact of the policy adjustment, noting that over 300,000 students have benefi
ted from the initiative. The new policy also includes support for the application fee for the third round of TCAS 68 encompassing seven admission rounds. This year marks the introduction of providing A-level exam answers to all students, a move aimed at reducing educational inequality and increasing access to higher education for Thai youth.
